To: The Team Manager, Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber

Date: 05 September 2025 Time: 18:35

The Stewards have reviewed a report from the Race Director regarding an incident during Practice 2.

Incident Details

  • No / Driver: 5 - Gabriel Bortoleto
  • Competitor: Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber
  • Time of Incident: 17:09
  • Session: Practice 2
  • Fact: Car 5 overtook Car 30 in a yellow flag zone.
  • Infringement: Breach of Appendix H, Article 2.5.5 b) of the FIA International Sporting Code.

Decision

No penalty applied.

Reason for Decision

The Stewards thoroughly reviewed all available evidence, including positioning/marshalling system data, video, and in-car video.

  • Car 5 approached a yellow flag zone before Turn 7, with Car 30 ahead, driving at a significantly lower speed.
  • The first yellow flag signal was displayed to the driver's right after Turn 6.
  • At the moment the yellow flag was displayed, Car 5 was already in close proximity to Car 30. This proximity led to Car 30 partially obstructing Car 5's view of the yellow flag.
  • The Stewards determined that Car 5 did not have sufficient time to react to the yellow flag before initiating the overtake of Car 30.
  • Furthermore, Car 5 significantly reduced speed after passing the first yellow flag and proceeded through the incident area (which caused the yellow flag) at a slow speed.

Considering these factors, the Stewards concluded that while a technical breach of the regulations occurred, no penalty is warranted.
