  • Infringement: Alleged breach of Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2 d) of the FIA International Sporting Code.

Stewards' Decision

  • Decision: No further action.

Reason for Decision

The Stewards received a report from the Race Director (documents 47 & 48) and heard from both drivers and team representatives. They reviewed video, timing, and in-car video evidence.

Incident Description:

  • Car 63 (George Russell) and Car 16 (Charles Leclerc) were involved in a collision at Turn 12.
  • Car 63 was ahead of Car 16 at Turn 11 but lost the position to Car 16 at the exit of Turn 12.

Investigation:

  • The Stewards investigated whether either driver should have acted differently, considering driving standards guidelines.
  • They also examined whether Car 16 remained on track or left it at Turn 12.
  • The available evidence was inconclusive regarding whether Car 16 left the track. Both team representatives agreed there was no clear evidence of Car 16 leaving the track.
  • Both drivers considered this a racing incident and felt no further consequences were warranted.

Conclusion:

After reviewing all available evidence, the Stewards reached the same conclusion as the drivers and team representatives. Consequently, no further action was taken.

Right of Appeal

Competitors are reminded of their right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
