• Fact: Car 18 crossed back into the Pit Exit Road when exiting the pits during the reconnaissance laps.

Infringement

Breach of Article 12.2.1 i) of the FIA International Sporting Code and non-compliance with Race Director's Event Notes (item 13.5, document 4).

Decision

Driver: Warning.

Reason

The Stewards reviewed video and in-car video evidence. The driver of Car 18 exited the pits during the reconnaissance laps without performing a practice start. He crossed the pit exit line while passing drivers queueing for practice starts, as prescribed in the Race Director's Event Notes. However, he then crossed back into the Pit Exit Road instead of moving to the regular racing line, which is a clear breach of item 13.5 of the Race Director's Event Notes.

Since no dangerous situation was caused and no other cars were affected by this infringement, the Stewards determined that a Warning to the driver is sufficient in this case.

Competitors are reminded of their right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
