Time: 19:15
This report details the technical checks performed before, during, and after the third free practice session (P3) and the qualifying session for the 2025 Italian Grand Prix.
Before the Third Free Practice Session:
- Digital Scan & CAD Comparison: A spare LHS front corner of car numbers 81 and 04 was digitally scanned. The scanned data was compared against the team's declared CAD drawings. These CAD drawings were also cross-referenced with previously submitted versions to ensure conformity with the 2025 Formula One Technical Regulations.
During the Third Free Practice Session:
Comprehensive checks were performed on all cars, including:
- Tyre Pressures: Starting pressures of tyres.
- Fuel System: Fuel pressure, fuel flow meter calibration checksum, instantaneous fuel mass flow, partial load fuel mass flow, and fuel temperature.
- Engine & Cooling: Logged pressure within the engine cooling system, engine high rev limit bands, plenum temperature, and exhaust fluid mass flow.
- Power Unit (PU) & Energy Recovery System (ERS):
- IVT code and calibration checksums, IVT temperatures.
- ES state of charge on-track limits, lap energy release and recovery limits.
- MGU-K power limits, maximum MGU-K speed, maximum MGU-K torque, MGU-H speed.
- MGU-K power model, ES power model.
- Torque System: Torque coordinator demands and torque control.
- Software: Torque sensor software version and calibration checks, SECU custom software versions.
After the Third Free Practice Session:
- Engine Oil Sample: An engine oil sample was taken from car number 63.
Before the Qualifying Practice Session:
- Fuel Samples: Fuel samples were taken from car numbers 87, 06, and 27.
- Engine Oil Samples: Engine oil samples were taken from car numbers 31 and 05.
- Gear Ratios: It was confirmed that the gear ratios used for the remainder of the competition conformed to those declared to the FIA technical delegate before the first competition of the 2025 Championship.
During the Qualifying Practice Session:
- Brake Discs: Thickness of brake discs was checked on car numbers 81, 04, 16, 44, 01, 22, 12, 18, 10, 43, 31, 87, 06, 30, 23, 55, 27, and 05.
- Weight & Distribution: Car numbers 81, 44, 22, 63, 10, 31, 87, 06, 30, 23, 55, and 27 were weighed, and their weight distribution was checked.
- Rear Wing: Uppermost rear wing element adjustable positions and minimum distance between adjacent rear wing sections were checked on car numbers 10, 87, 06, and 55.
- Tyre Pressures: Starting pressures of tyres for all cars.
- General Checks: Fuel pressure, engine cooling system pressure, engine high rev limit bands, fuel flow meter calibration checksums, instantaneous and partial load fuel mass flow, fuel and plenum temperatures, exhaust fluid mass flow.
- Power Unit (PU) & Energy Recovery System (ERS): IVT code and calibration checksums, IVT temperatures, ES state of charge on-track limits, lap energy release and recovery limits, MGU-K power limits, maximum MGU-K speed, maximum MGU-K torque, maximum MGU-H speed, MGU-K and ES power models.
