Tyre Prescriptions for the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix
The document provides detailed information regarding tyre compounds, pressures, and temperatures.
Compounds Selection
- Available Compounds: C3, C4, C5 (Slicks), Intermediate, Wet
- Mandatory Race Tyres: C3, C4
- Q3 Tyre: C5
Pressures & Camber
- Minimum Starting Pressure (psi):
- Front: Slicks (28.0), Intermediate (28.0), Wet (23.0)
- Rear: Slicks (26.0), Intermediate (26.5), Wet (21.0)
- Expected Stabilized Running Pressure (psi):
- Front: ≥29.0
- Rear: ≥27.0
- Camber Limit:
- Front: -3.00°
- Rear: -1.75°
Cold Pressure Cooling Curve
The document includes a graph and formulas for calculating front and rear pressures based on tyre temperature:
Pfront = (T - 70) * 0.133 + PstartfPrear = (T - 70) * 0.127 + PstartrPstartf: Minimum starting pressure on the front axle [psi]Pstartr: Minimum starting pressure on the rear axle [psi]T: Tyre temperature [°C]
Maximum Heating Times and Temperatures (tread & sidewall)
- Slicks & Intermediate: Maximum 2 hours heating up to 60-70°C.
- Wet: No blankets allowed.
Tyre Notes
- Temperatures refer to tyre tread and sidewall, not blanket or controller set-point temperatures.
- Tyres may only be heated prior to the session in which they are intended to be used.
- The temperatures apply at all times during the event.
- Switching tyres from their originally allocated position is not permitted.
- Tyres should not be subjected to large deformation or heavy impact.
- Fitted tyres should not be exposed to air temperatures below 10°C or excessive UV emission.
- Revised prescriptions may be issued during the race weekend in accordance with TD003.
- Cut-off time for fitting tyres on Sunday morning is 4 hours prior to the race start.
- Heating time temperature limits apply to actual tyre surface temperature measured with an IR gun.
- Blanket heating time for each temperature range is counted from the moment the blanket control unit is set to reach its targeted temperature.
- Cold pressure cooling curve temperature limits apply to the average of 5 TPMS spots.
General Notes
Teams are reminded that the FIA will check the following during the event:
- Starting pressures
- Cold pressures (according to the cold pressure cooling curves)
- Re-heat pressures
- EOS Camber
- Maximum tyre temperatures and times in blankets
- Tyre swapping
