Infringement Alleged

Alleged breach of:

  • Article 33.4 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations
  • Article 12.2.1 i) of the FIA International Sporting Code (non-compliance with the Race Director's Event Notes, item 1, document 12)

Decision

No further action.

Reasons for the Decision

The Stewards conducted a thorough review of various data sources, including:

  • Marshalling/Positioning data
  • Timing data
  • On-board cameras
  • CCTV cameras

The review indicated that:

  • All drivers concerned maintained speeds necessary to stay below 2:05.0 for the majority of the circuit.
  • Drivers took appropriate actions to avoid impeding other drivers.
  • Drivers significantly slowed down to allow others to pass, ensuring a clear track.

Therefore, the Stewards concluded that the drivers did not drive "unnecessarily slowly" and that their actions, while resulting in exceeding the maximum time, were appropriate. Consequently, no further action will be taken.

Note to Competitors

Competitors are reminded of their right to appeal certain Stewards' decisions within the applicable time limits, as per Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules.

Decisions by the Stewards are made independently of the FIA, based solely on relevant regulations, guidelines, and presented evidence.
