NOTE TO TEAMS: POST-QUALIFYING PROCEDURE
This document outlines the procedures to be followed by drivers and teams immediately after the qualifying session, particularly for the top three (3) finishers and other participants.
For Top Three (3) Drivers:
- Return to Pit Lane: The fastest three (3) drivers must return to the Pit Lane after taking the chequered flag in Q3 and proceed to the 1,2,3 boards.
- Restricted Area: Only team mechanics (with cooling fans if necessary), officials, FIA pre-approved television crews, and photographers are allowed in the designated area. Driver physios and team PR personnel are not permitted.
- Weighing: The top three (3) drivers will be weighed by the FIA immediately after exiting their cars. Drivers must remain fully attired (helmet, gloves, etc.) until after weighing.
- Interviews: Post-Qualifying interviews will take place in parc ferme, conducted by an interviewer selected by the Commercial Rights Holder.
- Pit Lane Arrival: If any of the top three drivers are in the Pit Lane at the end of the session, their team must ensure they go directly to the designated area once other drivers have arrived.
- Photo Opportunities: After live interviews, drivers will be led to the backdrop for Top 3 and Pirelli Award photos.
- Media Engagements: The top three drivers will be escorted by the FIA Media Delegate to:
- The FIA Press Conference.
- The TV pen after the Press Conference.
For Other Drivers:
- TV Pen Interviews: Drivers eliminated in Q1 and Q2, those classified 4th to 10th in Q3, and drivers eligible to race but not participating in Q1 must attend the TV pen interview immediately after being weighed by the FIA at the end of their last qualifying part.
- Written Media Interviews: Drivers from 4th place onwards who do not have a scheduled written media session after qualifying must be available for interviews in the written media zone next to the TV pen after their TV interviews.
General Procedures for Drivers Outside Top Three:
- FIA Scales after Q1/Q2: Drivers finishing qualifying after Q1 and Q2 must proceed to the FIA scales via the pit lane immediately after returning to their team's garage. They may not consume anything or do anything to increase their weight before it is recorded.
- FIA Scales after Track Stop: Any driver who stops on track during qualifying and does not need to visit the Medical Centre must go to the FIA scales for weight recording before returning to their team.
- FIA Scales for Top 10: Drivers finishing in the top 10 must go to the FIA scales immediately upon exiting their cars, without contact with others.
