Alleged Infringement
Alleged breach of Article 33.4 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations and Article 12.2.1 i) of the FIA International Sporting Code (non-compliance with the Race Director's Event Notes, item 1, document 4).
Decision
No further action.
Reasons for Decision
The Stewards conducted a thorough review of various data sources, including:
- Marshalling/Positioning data
- Timing data
- On-board cameras
- CCTV cameras
It was determined that while the driver (Kimi Antonelli) was at or above the necessary speeds to stay below the 1:39.0 limit for the majority of the circuit, there were instances where the time limit was exceeded. However, the Stewards found that in all such cases, the driver took appropriate actions to not impede other drivers. Specifically, the driver significantly slowed down to allow other drivers to pass and maintain a clear track.
Therefore, the Stewards concluded that the driver did not drive "unnecessarily slowly" and that the exceeding of the maximum time was a result of taking appropriate steps. Consequently, no further action is deemed necessary.
Note to Competitors
Competitors are reminded of their right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
