Technical Delegate’s Report - 2026 Australian Grand Prix

Date: 08 March 2026 From: The FIA Formula One Technical Delegate To: The Stewards

1. Pre-Race Inspections

  • Deflection Tests: Car 01 (Max Verstappen) passed rear wing mainplane and flap deflection tests.
  • Skid Checks: Hardness and density of skids were checked on cars: 81, 63, 06, 44, 23, 30, 41, 14, 87, 05, 43, 77.
  • Grid Checks:
    • Tyre heating blankets disconnection at the 5-minute signal.
    • Tyre temperatures and minimum starting pressures were verified for selected cars.

Aerodynamic & Technical Checks

  • Bodywork: Detailed checks on cars 01, 41, 87, and 05 (Floor, Nose, Chassis, Wings).
  • Plank/Skid Wear: Verified on 17 cars.
  • Power Unit & Energy: Fuel pressure, oil consumption, MGU-K power limits, and ES charge states were monitored and found compliant.
  • Samples: Fuel and oil samples from car 44 were analyzed and matched reference samples.

Conclusion: All car weights and items checked were found to be in conformity with the 2026 FIA Formula One Technical Regulations.
