This document outlines the post-qualifying procedures for the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix, focusing on media engagements and technical checks for drivers.

Top Three Drivers Procedure

For the top three (3) drivers in Q3:

  • Return to Pit Lane: After taking the chequered flag, the top three drivers must return to the Pit Lane and park in front of the FIA garages (boards 1, 2, 3).
  • Designated Area Access: Only team mechanics (with cooling fans), officials, FIA pre-approved television crews, and photographers are allowed in the designated area. No driver physios or team PR personnel are permitted.
  • Weight Check: Drivers must remain fully attired (helmet, gloves, etc.) until after being weighed by the FIA.
  • Parc Fermé Interviews: Post-qualifying interviews will take place in Parc Fermé, with the interviewer selected by the Commercial Rights Holder.
  • Arrival in Pit Lane: If any of the top three drivers are in the Pit Lane at the end of the session, the team must ensure they proceed directly to the designated area once other drivers arrive.
  • Photo Opportunities: After live interviews, drivers will be led to the backdrop for Top 3 and Pirelli Award photos.
  • Media Engagements: The top three drivers will be escorted by the FIA Media Delegate to:
    • FIA Press Conference.
    • TV pen after the press conference.

Other Drivers Procedure

For drivers outside the top three (3) positions at the end of qualifying and those eliminated in earlier sessions:

  • TV Pen Interviews:
    • Drivers eliminated in Q1 and Q2.
    • Drivers classified 4th to 10th in Q3.
    • Drivers who did not participate in Q1 but are eligible to race. These drivers must attend the TV pen interview immediately after being weighed by the FIA at the end of their last qualifying segment.
  • Written Media Interviews: Any driver from 4th place onwards who does not have a session for written media organized after qualifying must be available for interviews at the written media zone adjacent to the TV pen once their TV interviews conclude.

FIA Scales Procedure for All Drivers

  • Q1/Q2 Participants: Drivers who finished participating in qualifying sessions after Q1 and Q2 must proceed immediately to the FIA scales through the pit lane after returning to their team's garage. They may not drink or do anything to increase their weight before it is recorded.
  • Track Stoppage: Any driver who stops on the track during qualifying sessions and is not required to visit the Medical Centre must proceed to the FIA scales for weight recording before returning to their team.
  • Top 10 Finishers: Drivers who finish within the top 10 must proceed immediately to the FIA scales when out of their cars, without contact with any other person.
