2026 Spanish Grand Prix - Post-Race Procedure (Document 59)

🏁 Post-Race Interviews & Podium Ceremony Procedure
In addition to Article B10.2 of the FIA F1 Regulations, the following procedures must be strictly followed:
1. Initial Parc Fermé & Weighing
- Checkered Flag: The top three (3) drivers must return to the grid near grid position #1 (look for 1, 2, 3 boards).
- Weighing: Drivers will be weighed by the FIA while fully attired (Helmet, Gloves, etc.). Water will be available in the parc fermé area afterward.
- Access Restrictions: Only team mechanics (with cooling fans), officials, and pre-approved media/photographers are allowed in the designated area. PR personnel and physios must wait outside the cool down room.
2. Driver Attire & Interviews
- Driving Suits: Per Article B10.2.2, top 3 drivers must remain attired only in their Driving Suits, 'done up' to the neck (not opened to the waist) for the ceremony and interviews.
- Interviews: Post-race interviews take place in the Pit Lane, conducted by the Commercial Rights Holder.
- Cool Down Room: Drivers are immediately escorted to the cool down room after interviews and given their Pirelli Caps.
3. Podium Ceremony Protocol
- Drivers are escorted to the Podium area (1, 2, 3 Rostrum and Dias).
- Sequence of Announcements:
- 3rd and 2nd place drivers take their respective steps.
- Winning Driver is announced and takes the top step.
- Ceremony Flow: National Anthems & flag display -> Trophy presentations by dignitaries via the Master of Ceremonies.
- Presentation Order:
- Winning Driver
- FIA Medal for the Winning Driver
- Representative of the Winning Constructor
- 2nd Place Driver
- 3rd Place Driver
4. Post-Ceremony & Media Obligations
- Top 3 Drivers: Escorted by the FIA Media Delegate to the TV pen, then to the FIA Press Conference.
- Drivers 4th and Beyond: Must proceed directly to the TV pen after weighing in Parc Fermé. Must remain fully attired until weighed. Available for written media interviews adjacent to the TV pen.
- Retiring Drivers: Must go to the TV pen (and written media pen if applicable) as soon as they return to the paddock.
