The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, have considered the following matter and determine the following:

Incident Details

  • Driver: 81 - Oscar Piastri
  • Competitor: McLaren Mastercard F1 Team
  • Time: 16:06
  • Session: Race

Infringement & Decision

  • Fact: Pit lane speeding – 60.1 km/h
  • Infringement: Breach of Article B1.6.3a of the FIA F1 Regulations.
  • Decision: 5 second time penalty.

Reason

Car 81 exceeded the pit lane speed limit which is set at 60 km/h for this event by 0.1 km/h.

It is noted that this is the standard penalty according to the F1 Regulations and penalty guideline scale, for exceeding the pit lane speed limit by less than 6 km/h.

Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
