Post-Qualifying Procedure

1. Top Three (3) Drivers Procedure

If they take the chequered flag at the end of Q3, the fastest three drivers must follow this procedure:

  • Return to Pit Lane: Return to the Pit Lane and park in front of the FIA Garage (close to the Pit Lane Entrance) where the 1, 2, 3 boards are located.
  • Authorized Personnel Only: Only team mechanics (with cooling fans if necessary), officials, FIA pre-approved TV crews, and photographers are allowed in this area. No driver physios nor team PR personnel are permitted.
  • Weighing: Drivers will be weighed by the FIA immediately upon exiting their cars. Drivers must remain fully attired (including helmet and gloves) until they are weighed.
  • Post-Qualifying Interviews: Will take place on the third floor of the Pit Building. The interviewer will be selected by the Commercial Rights Holder.
  • Late Arrival: If any of the top three drivers is already in the Pit Lane at the end of the session, the team must ensure they go directly to the designated area once the other drivers arrive.
  • Photo Opportunities: After live interviews, drivers will go to the backdrop in the Pit Lane for the Top 3 and Pirelli Award photos.
  • Press Conference & TV Pen: Escorted by the FIA Media Delegate to the FIA Press Conference, then to the TV pen.

2. Other Drivers Procedure (4th to 20th)

  • TV Pen Interviews:
    • Drivers eliminated in Q1/Q2, classified 4th-10th in Q3, and drivers who did not participate in Q1 but are eligible to race must attend the TV pen interviews immediately after being weighed by the FIA at the end of their last session.
  • Written Media:
    • Drivers from 4th onwards who do not have a post-qualifying written media session must be available at the written media zone adjacent to the TV pen after TV interviews.
  • Weighing Procedures:
    • Q1/Q2 Eliminated: Must proceed directly to the FIA scales through the pit lane immediately after returning to the garage. They must not drink or do anything to increase their weight before weighing.
    • Stopped on Track: Any driver who stops on track (and does not need the Medical Centre) must go to the FIA scales to be weighed before returning to their team.
    • Top 10 Finishers: Must proceed to the FIA scales immediately upon exiting their cars without contact with anyone else.

The document includes an attached diagram for the "Parc Ferme - Qualifying" layout showing:

  • FIA Offices & FOM Offices & Hospitality
  • Paddock Club Terrace (Top 3 Interview area on the 3rd floor)
  • FIA Scales and FIA Backdrop
  • Positions for TV RF Cameraman and Photographers
  • Parking areas along the pit wall for remaining finishers.
