FIA Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix 2026 - Race Director's Competition Notes V3
General Instructions:
- Maximum Lap Time: Drivers must not exceed the maximum time between Safety Car Lines during qualifying and reconnaissance laps to avoid going unnecessarily slowly.
- Parc Fermé: Specific routes are defined for team personnel to access the area for cooling or supervised work.
- Lapping: Drivers must allow faster cars to pass at the first opportunity. Blue light panels will trigger when the faster car is within 1.2s.
- Safety Car Restart: No erratic acceleration or braking is permitted after the safety car's orange lights are extinguished.
- Pit Lane Safety: Personnel are only allowed in the pit lane just before working on a car and must withdraw immediately after.
- Track Limits: Any violation of track limits at Turn 19 will result in the invalidation of that lap time and the following lap time.
Specific Instructions:
- Practice Starts: Must be performed on the RHS of the Pit Exit Road using painted grid boxes. Prohibited during Sprint/Qualifying sessions.
- Pit Entry/Exit: Drivers must stay to the right of the 1st bollard and left of the 2nd bollard at pit entry.
- Starting Procedure: Blue flashing lights will appear on the grid for 5 seconds before the start sequence begins.
- Circuit Changes: Paint removed from the fast lane, manhole covered at Turn 8, and realigned Tecpro at pit entry.
