Infringement

Breach of Article 34.14 a) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.

Decision

The competitor (Atlassian Williams Racing) is fined €5,000.

Reason for Decision

The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 23 (Alexander Albon), the driver of Car 31 (Esteban Ocon), team representatives, and reviewed video, team radio, and in-car video evidence.

This incident was determined to be an unsafe release, as it caused Car 31 to brake almost to a stop to avoid a collision.

Right to Appeal

Competitors are reminded of their right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
