| Fact | The driver ignored Blue Flags being displayed for Car 6's approach. |
| Infringement | Breach of Appendix H, Article 2.5.5 e) of the International Sporting Code. |
| Decision | 5 second time penalty |
Reason
The Stewards reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video and in-car video evidence from Car 87.
Blue flags were displayed to Car 87 (Oliver Bearman) due to the approach of Car 6 (Isack Hadjar) between turns 7 and 1 on the following lap. Car 87 passed 11 blue flag light panels before letting Car 6 past. The driver of Car 87 was required to allow Car 6 to pass at the earliest opportunity. In the Stewards’ assessment, that opportunity arose at the latest between turns 11 and 12 but Car 87 did not allow Car 6 to pass until the entry to turn 1 on the following lap. The Stewards therefore imposed a 5 second time penalty on Car 87.
Note: Competitors have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules.
