Document 51 - Infringement - Car 6 - Failing to follow Race Director's instruction

Date: 14 March 2026 Time: 12:45

Driver: 6 - Isack Hadjar (Oracle Red Bull Racing) Session: Sprint

Fact

The driver, Isack Hadjar, failed to follow the Race Director's Instruction regarding practice starts, specifically item 13.5 of the Event Notes.

Infringement

Breach of Article 12.2.1i of the International Sporting Code in combination with Item 13.5 of the Race Director Competition Notes.

Decision

Driver: Warning.

Reason

Stewards received a report from the Race Director and summoned the driver and team representative (Document 45). After hearing from them and reviewing video and in-car video evidence, the following was determined:

  • Race Director's Competition Notes (Document 31) states: "Cars NOT wishing to perform a practice start should leave the pit lane and MUST cross the white line separating the Pit Exit Road from the track at the earliest opportunity and join the “normal” racing line.”
  • Car 6 did not comply. It partially crossed the white line, with part of the car straddling the line and the Pit Exit Road, thus being in breach.
  • The driver explained that it was a mistake due to confusion caused by the various lines on the track.
  • Although the incident did not pose an immediate danger, it had the potential to do so, which is why the instructions are in place.
  • In line with previous similar incidents, a warning was issued to the driver.

Right of Appeal

Competitors have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within applicable time limits.
