Summary of Incident

The Stewards received a report from the Race Director regarding Car 11 (Sergio Perez) of Cadillac Formula 1 Team.

  • Time of Incident: 11:27
  • Fact: Exceeding minimum time set by ECU behind safety car.
  • Infringement: Breach of Article B5.13.2b of the FIA F1 Regulations.

Stewards' Decision and Reason

Decision: 5 second time penalty.

Reason:

The Stewards reviewed timing data which showed that Car 11 failed to stay above the minimum time for 2 mini sectors during the Safety Car deployment. This was determined to be a breach of Article B5.13.2.b of the 2026 FIA F1 Regulations. Consequently, a 5-second time penalty was imposed on Car 11.

Right of Appeal

Competitors are reminded of their right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
