Lando Norris names 'inevitable choice' Rene Rosin to lead LN4 Fusion

Lando Norris has named Rene Rosin as team principal of his newly launched LN4 Fusion junior racing operation, calling the former Prema boss the "inevitable choice" to lead the project. The 2025 F1 champion's squad will initially compete in Italian F4, FRECA and Formula 3, with an application lodged to join the F2 grid.

Why it matters:

Norris is building a long-term junior programme rather than a single-team venture, and Rosin brings a proven track record of developing F1 talent. The Frenchman guided Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri, Mick Schumacher, Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman through the junior ranks at Prema, making him one of the most respected figures in the paddock.

• Team structure: LN4 Fusion has acquired AIX Racing's assets, including its FIA F3 entry, and has applied for an FIA F2 grid slot.
• Rosin's pedigree: Under his leadership, Prema won four of six GP2/F2 titles between 2016 and 2021, with Pierre Gasly, Leclerc, Schumacher and Piastri all crowned champions.
• F3 dominance: Prema also claimed three consecutive FIA F3 titles from 2019 to 2021 through Robert Shwartzman, Piastri and Dennis Hauger.
• Beyond F1: Rosin's junior alumni include Le Mans winner Kamui Kobayashi, Indy 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist, and F1 race winners Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly.

Norris explained that his decision came down to trust and experience: "A lot of the guys are people I've known for a long time, and I've known Rene for many years. Over the last seven years, I've been able to experience what makes a good leader, a good team, and a lot of it starts with the person at the very top."

Rosin stepped down from Prema at the start of 2026, and his availability aligned perfectly with Norris's timeline. With the F2 application still pending, LN4 Fusion's first on-track outings in F4, FRECA and F3 will be closely watched as the operation takes shape.
