Formula 2 unveils next-generation car for 2027-2029 seasons

Formula 2 has unveiled the car that will carry the championship through 2027-2029 at Monza, and the message is clear: the series wants to look more like F1 without losing its role as a proving ground.

The car keeps the current Dallara chassis to control costs. The redesigned front and rear wings give it an F1-inspired look and are designed to promote closer racing, while an on-board starter lets drivers restart after a spin or stall without outside help.

Why it matters:

F2 remains the most direct path to F1. Kimi Antonelli, Isack Hadjar and Arvid Lindblad have all used the series as a springboard in recent seasons, and this car is designed to make that final step feel more natural.
