F2 unveils brand new car for 2027 season and beyond

Formula 2 has unveiled its new car for the 2027 season at Monza, revealing the next-generation machine ahead of the Italian Grand Prix. The car, which will be used from 2027 to 2029, is an evolution of the current design: it keeps the existing Dallara chassis to control costs, but introduces significant aerodynamic and operational updates.

The current F2 car completes its cycle at the end of this season, with the new machine set to debut in 2027. FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem called it a key step in strengthening the single-seater pathway, while F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said it combines innovation, safety and closer racing. F2 CEO Bruno Michel added that keeping the current chassis managed costs while allowing the design to look more like an F1 car.
