Aston Martin Unveils 16-Part B-Spec Upgrade for Hungarian GP

Aston Martin has effectively debuted a B-spec car in Hungary, declaring 16 upgrades across its 2026 challenger. The Silverstone team has already scheduled a second phase for Zandvoort.

The overhaul signals a mid-season reset. Instead of incremental tweaks, Aston Martin is chasing a step change in a bid to turn around its campaign and claw back ground from the front-runners.

The details:

• Front end: A longer, thinner nose, reshaped front wing, and revised endplates headline the changes, complemented by front brake ducts tailored to manage wheel wake.
• Floor and bodywork: Four floor updates target increased load, covering the floor body, leading edge vanes, the edge ahead of the rear tyre, and a revised diffuser. The sidepod inlet, coke section, and engine cover were also reworked.
• Rear wing: Dimensions were redistributed across the three elements, with trailing-edge winglets and a completely redesigned brace and endplates to boost corner downforce while trimming straight-line drag.
• McLaren: The Woking squad brought the first half of a two-part package including a new rear wing endplate, floor, and front corner furniture for better brake cooling.
• Rest of the grid: Hungary's layout triggered rear wing changes up and down the pit lane. Mercedes added winglets and a wider engine cover exit, Red Bull revised flap profiles and its diffuser, and Ferrari introduced trailing edge devices. Alpine opted to bring no updates.
