Fact

• The following Power Unit elements have been used:
  • 6th Turbocharger (TC)
• In addition, the setup of the suspension has been changed while under parc fermé.
• The team also continued to work on the car beyond the covers-on time.

Infringement

• Breaches of Article B8.2.2 (read with B8.2.3), B3.4.3a, B3.4.3b, B3.5.3 and B3.5.4 of the FIA F1 Regulations.

Decision

• Required to start the Race from the pit lane.

Reason

• The use of the additional PU element in this case normally carries a 5 grid place penalty.
• However, Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team changed the setup of the suspension of Car 14 under parc fermé before the start of the Race, without the approval of the Technical Delegate (Breach of Article B3.5.3 & B3.5.4).
• In addition, the team continued to work on the car beyond the covers-on time (Breach of Articles B3.4.3a & B3.4.3b).
• Therefore, Car 14 is required to start the Race from the pit lane as per Article B3.5.3b. The grid drop penalty is redundant in this case.
