Technical Delegate's Report - Document 48
This report details the technical scrutineering conducted during the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix for the third free practice session (P3) and the qualifying session.
Summary of Inspections
Before P3:
- Digital scan of LHS rear corner (car numbers 31 and 87) compared with CAD drawings and 2026 Technical Regulations.
During P3:
- Checked: Tyre starting pressures, fuel pressure, engine cooling system pressure, high rev limit bands, fuel flow meter calibration, fuel energy flow (instantaneous and partial load), fuel temperature, plenum temperature, engine intake air pressure, turbocharger speed, PU and MGU-K reduction rates, ES state of charge limits, ERS recharge limits, MGU-K power limits, MGU-K speed, torque coordinator demands, torque control, and SECU custom software versions.
Pre-Qualifying:
- Fuel/Oil samples taken (cars 87, 05, 11, 12).
- Gear ratios confirmed for all cars.
- Brake disc thickness checked for all cars.
During/After Qualifying:
- Weighing and weight distribution checks.
- Aerodynamic component and bodywork checks (specifically on cars 31, 03, 41, 05).
- Floor winglet flexibility test (car 31).
- Fuel and engine oil samples analyzed (FTIR spectroscopy and viscometry).
