Post-Race Interviews & Podium Ceremony Procedure

This document outlines the mandatory procedures for the podium ceremony and post-race interviews for the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, in addition to Article B10.2 of the FIA F1 Regulations.

1. Podium Ceremony Sequence

  • Master of Ceremonies: Appointed by the FIA to manage the entire ceremony.
  • Driver Arrival: The top 3 drivers must return to the Pit Lane.
    • 1st Place: Parks in front of the LED Screen and under the podium.
    • 2nd & 3rd Place: Park before the FIA weighbridge.
  • Weighing: All top 3 drivers must be weighed by the FIA while fully attired (Helmet, Gloves, etc.). Water is provided in Parc Fermé after weighing.
  • Access Control: Only team mechanics (with cooling fans), officials, and approved media are allowed in the designated area. PR personnel and physios must wait outside the cool-down room.
  • Attire: Per Article B10.2.2, drivers in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place must remain in their driving suits, zipped up to the neck.

2. Post-Race Interview & Podium Process

  • Interviews: Conducted in Parc Fermé by an interviewer selected by the Commercial Rights Holder.
  • Cool-down Room: After interviews, drivers are escorted to the cool-down room and given Pirelli Caps.
  • Podium Ascent: Drivers are escorted to the rostrum. The 3rd and 2nd place drivers are introduced first, followed by the winner.
  • Ceremony: National anthems are played, flags displayed, and trophies presented by dignitaries.

3. Trophy Presentation Order

  1. Winning Driver
  2. FIA Medal for the Winning Driver
  3. Representative of the Winning Constructor
  4. 2nd Place Driver
  5. 3rd Place Driver

4. Media Obligations

  • Top 3 Drivers: Escorted to the TV pen, then to the FIA Press Conference.
  • Drivers 4th and Beyond: Must proceed to the TV pen after weighing in Parc Fermé. They must remain fully attired until weighed.
  • Written Media: Drivers (4th+) without a scheduled session must be available at the written media zone adjacent to the TV pen.
  • Retired Drivers: Must go to the TV pen (and written media pen if applicable) immediately upon returning to the paddock.
