Technical Delegate's Report
Document: 44 Date: 13 June 2026
This report summarizes the technical checks performed by the FIA Technical Delegate during the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
Before the Third Free Practice (P3)
- CAD Comparison: The spare LHS front corner of car numbers 41 and 30 was digitally scanned and compared against team-declared CAD drawings and the 2026 Technical Regulations.
During P3
- General Systems: Tyre starting pressures, fuel pressure, engine cooling system pressure, and engine high-rev limit bands were checked on all cars.
- Fuel & Power Unit: Fuel flow meter calibration, instantaneous and partial load fuel energy flow, fuel temperature, plenum temperature, and engine intake air pressure were verified.
- Energy & Software: Maximum turbocharger speed, PU and MGU-K reduction rates, DC sensor temperatures, ES state of charge limits, ERS recharge limits, and SECU custom software versions were checked on all cars.
Before & During Qualifying
- Gear Ratios: Confirmed for all cars.
- Brake Discs: Thickness checked for car numbers 81, 01, 12, 03, 06, 16, 44, 23, 55, 41, 30, 18, 14, 31, 87, 27, 05, 10, 43, 11, and 77.
- Weights & Aero: Specific cars were weighed and checked for weight distribution. Aerodynamic components (Floor, Nose, Chassis, Wings, etc.) were verified on specific cars (e.g., car 23, 81, 03, 27).
