Stewards' Decision

  • Decision: No further action.

Reason for Decision

The Stewards, after reviewing reports from the Race Director (documents 85 & 86) and hearing from both drivers (Max Verstappen of Car 3 and George Russell of Car 63) and team representatives, conducted a thorough review of available evidence. This included:

  • Positioning/marshalling system data
  • Video evidence
  • Timing data
  • Telemetry
  • Team radio communications
  • In-car video from both vehicles

Based on this comprehensive review, it was determined that there was minor contact between the cars at Turn 1. Both drivers involved considered this incident to be a minor racing incident, a conclusion with which the Stewards concurred.

Right to Appeal

Competitors are reminded of their right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the specified time limits.

Independence of Decisions

Decisions made by the Stewards are independent of the FIA and are based exclusively on the relevant regulations, guidelines, and presented evidence.
