Technical Delegate's Report: 2026 Japanese Grand Prix
Date: 28 March 2026 From: The FIA Formula One Technical Delegate To: The Stewards
1. Before and During Third Free Practice (P3)
- Digital Scans: Car numbers 11 and 77 (LHS rear corners) were scanned and compared against CAD drawings to ensure compliance with 2026 Technical Regulations.
- General Checks: Tyre starting pressures, fuel pressure, engine cooling system pressure, and fuel flow meter calibration were verified for all cars.
- Energy & Power: Instantaneous/partial load fuel energy flow, ERS recharge limits, and MGU-K power limits were monitored.
2. Qualifying Session Inspections
- Weighing: Cars 81, 01, 12, 03, 06, 16, 44, 41, 14, 43 (during) and 81, 01, 63, 12, 06, 16, 44, 41, 05, 10 (after) were weighed.
- Aerodynamic Checks: Detailed bodywork inspections (Floor, Nose, Wings, etc.) were conducted on cars 43, 81, 12, and 05.
- Samples: Fuel and engine oil samples were taken from various cars (including 81, 10, 41, 27, 77) and analyzed via gas chromatography and FTIR spectroscopy.
3. SECU Software Versions
All teams utilized the SR1827 version of the FIA Standard ECU system.
Conclusion: All items were found to be in conformity with the 2026 FIA Formula One Technical Regulations.
