Doc 22 - Race Director's Notes - SC2 - SC1 Time

This document, issued by the FIA Formula One Race Director, Rui Marques, to all teams and officials, outlines a critical procedural note for the 2026 Australian Grand Prix.

Key Directive:

• To prevent cars from driving unnecessarily slowly during qualifying, after qualifying, or during reconnaissance laps when the pit exit opens for the race, drivers must maintain a lap time below 1:37.0 between the Safety Car lines (SC2 and SC1) as indicated on the pit lane drawing.

This measure aims to ensure fair play and safety by preventing drivers from deliberately slowing down to gain an advantage or impede others, particularly in critical phases of the event.
