Violent Yuki Tsunoda crash stops F1 Imola GP qualifying

Qualifying for Formula 1's Imola Grand Prix was red-flagged due to a heavy crash involving Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda.

Approaching the fast Villeneuve chicane, Tsunoda lost control of his car, the RB21. Following heavy contact with the inside wall, Tsunoda's car was sent into a violent barrel roll.

Fortunately, his car landed upright, and the Japanese driver was able to climb out seemingly unhurt. Tsunoda received applause from the fans in the grandstand as he walked towards the medical car.

The session was red-flagged with 12 minutes remaining in Q1. The session restarted at 16:20 local time.
