Verstappen Secures Nürburgring Nordschleife Permit A, Eyes GT3 and 24-Hour Races
Max Verstappen has successfully obtained his DMSB Permit A for the Nürburgring Nordschleife, clearing his path to compete in GT3 cars and potentially the prestigious Nürburgring 24 Hours. The reigning Formula 1 World Champion completed the necessary requirements this past weekend, expressing his enjoyment for the iconic track.
Why it matters:
This permit is essential for drivers aiming to compete in top-tier endurance races on the legendary Nordschleife, including the challenging Nürburgring 24 Hours. It signifies Verstappen's deepening engagement with high-level motorsport beyond Formula 1, underscoring his pure passion for racing.

- Permit Grant: Despite not fully meeting the two-car condition, the DPN committee reviewed his case and ultimately granted him the DMSB Permit A, recognizing his comprehensive performance.
- Verstappen's Experience: He thoroughly enjoyed his Nordschleife racing debut, remarking, “I had fun, but that’s always the case here.” He gained valuable experience navigating race conditions with varied traffic, driving in wet, dry, and mixed conditions, and learning about grip variations across the challenging circuit. “There is only one circuit like the Nordschleife,” he noted.
