Red Bull Unveils Major Five-Part Upgrade for RB21 at Belgian GP
Red Bull has introduced a significant five-part upgrade package for its RB21 at Formula 1’s Belgian Grand Prix.
Why it matters
This upgrade is expected to be one of the final major developments for the 2025 challenger before the team shifts its full focus to next season's car. It builds on recent floor updates, aiming to further enhance performance.
The details
The revisions primarily target several key areas of the car:
- Front Wing: The first and second elements have had their camber and incidence modified, with other flaps adapted for compliance. The goal is to revise pressure distribution and increase downforce.
- Sidepod Inlet: To prepare for tracks with higher engine cooling demands, Red Bull has merged the two previous openings into one wider upper portion.
- Engine Cover: As a direct consequence of the sidepod inlet changes, the engine cover has been revised to work in harmony, optimizing airflow to the floor. Rear suspension shrouds were also adapted.
- Front Suspension: Inboard fairings have gained camber, designed to aid the pressure available to the new sidepod inlets.
- Brake Duct Bodyworks: Minor profile changes to the lower cascade of the rear wheel bodywork, including more camber and a trailing edge trim, are aimed at delivering additional downforce.
