After a less-than-ideal Miami Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton offered a surprisingly optimistic outlook. Despite starting 12th and lacking pace, both Hamilton and the Ferrari team have pinpointed the areas where performance is lacking and what it will take to solve it.

However, the race was marked by strategic issues within Ferrari. Hamilton, stuck behind teammate Charles Leclerc due to differing strategies, voiced his frustration when the team was slow to react to his request to swap positions.

Jenson Button, the 2009 World Champion, empathized with Hamilton's situation. He explained that even a single lap spent behind his teammate could damage tire performance.

Hamilton, speaking to Sky Sports, said "We’re not where we want to be. We’re lacking, clearly, a lot of pace... We know where it is, and we’re just waiting for a fix to regain some of it."

He added, “I feel people didn’t like certain comments, but, I mean, it was just, you got to understand, especially, people say way worse things than I say, you know, so it was more sarcastic than anything."
