Lewis Hamilton gets new sponsor Perplexity, displays logo at Imola
Lewis Hamilton showcased the logo of his new personal sponsor, AI company Perplexity, on his helmet during the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola. This marks the first time the seven-time World Champion has raced with Perplexity branding since securing a personal deal with the company, reportedly valued at around $9 billion.
Hamilton achieved his best result of the F1 2024 season at Imola, climbing from 12th on the grid to finish fourth. His previous best finish this season was fifth place in Bahrain. He also secured victories in the Chinese GP sprint race and a third-place finish in the Miami sprint.
The Perplexity logo was prominently displayed on the top of Hamilton's helmet, visible during onboard camera footage, positioned just above his race number 44.
After the race, Hamilton expressed optimism about Ferrari's performance and potential for wins if they can improve their qualifying pace. In a team radio message, he thanked the team for a great race, fantastic stops, and strategy, noting how great the car felt. He dedicated the result to the Tifosi and urged the team to keep pushing.
Hamilton's move to Ferrari has already had a significant commercial impact. Puma, Ferrari's apparel partner, reported an eightfold increase in sales of Ferrari F1 merchandise since the beginning of the year.
Hamilton also commented on the support from fans at Imola, noting that many of his long-time supporters have transitioned with him from Mercedes to Ferrari, despite the change being new and challenging for some.
