Lewis Hamilton Admits He Was 'Scared' to Enter Ferrari Motorhome

Lewis Hamilton has revealed that being inside the Ferrari motorhome for the European races represented a significant moment in his adaptation to the iconic Italian team.

Hamilton, who made the highly anticipated move from Mercedes to Ferrari at the start of the current season, has spoken about the initial challenges and emotional impact of his new environment.

The seven-time world champion has faced a tough start to his tenure with the Scuderia, currently sitting seventh in the drivers' standings.

This weekend at Imola marks Hamilton's first Italian Grand Prix as a Ferrari driver, kicking off the European portion of the season. Reflecting on his experience, Hamilton admitted to some initial disorientation within the sprawling Ferrari motorhome.

"Everything is kind of like a new experience," he told reporters. "It is the first time that I have been to one of the European races and seen the motorhomes. I got here and didn’t know where I was going - I had to get someone to show me round."

Hamilton confessed that he had long harboured a desire to experience the Ferrari motorhome during European races but felt a sense of trepidation about entering as a rival driver.

"I have seen these hospitality trucks since I started in F1 in 2007," he added. "I’ve walked past them and never been inside. If I’m really honest, I was scared to set foot inside as I was from another team.

"I never went past the first step. Today is the first time walking around this building and it's another realisation that I’m here.

"And also it’s just that you know that Italians are passionate and that there is passion around Ferrari.

"But it’s a lot more than you expect when you are actually in it and it is beautiful."
