Lando Norris Updates on Nose Injury After British GP Celebration Incident

Summary
Lando Norris provides a positive update on his nose injury after a celebration mishap at the British GP, confirming it's healing well. He expressed disappointment about missing the full fan interaction but is now focused on the Belgian GP.

Lando Norris has provided a positive update on his nose injury following an incident during his British Grand Prix victory celebrations. The McLaren driver, who secured his first home race win at Silverstone, was involved in an accidental collision with a photographer while attempting to celebrate with fans on the pit straight.

The Incident

This recent injury follows a previous one sustained before the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, where Norris cut his nose in an incident involving broken glass at a boat party in Amsterdam. While both were minor, the British GP incident prevented him from fully engaging with his home crowd.

Injury Update

Norris confirmed ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix that his nose is "healing nicely." He noted that this latest repair was more "professional" than the previous one, humorously adding that both injuries serve as great memories.

Looking Ahead

The 24-year-old expressed regret over missing the full celebration moment with fans but appreciated the two-week break between the British and Belgian Grands Prix, which allowed him time to recover and prepare.

"I needed two weeks off to be honest, to recover," Norris stated. "It was just nice to end that way in Silverstone, my home race with two weeks. A week of just recovering and enjoying some time away with my friends, and a week of preparing for this weekend."

He emphasized that past victories hold no bearing on upcoming races. "Winning at Silverstone has nothing to do with tomorrow," he said. "It doesn't matter who won the last five or ten races. In a way, no one cares about that. It's just who can be the best tomorrow and perform the best over the next three days. It was great, but the focus is on this weekend."
