Daniel Ricciardo to Auction £2.4M Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar

Summary
F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo is auctioning his rare 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar, expected to fetch up to £2.4 million. The vehicle, with F1-derived tech and minimal mileage, offers a unique ownership opportunity.

Daniel Ricciardo is selling his personal 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar, which is set to hit the auction block at the Zoute Concours Auction on October 10, 2025, in Knokke-Heist, Belgium. The ultra-exclusive vehicle is expected to fetch between £2 million and £2.4 million.

Why it matters:

This sale offers a rare opportunity to acquire one of the world's most advanced road-legal vehicles, made even more unique by its original ownership by a prominent Formula 1 driver, Daniel Ricciardo. It highlights the intersection of F1 technology and luxury automotive engineering.

The Details:

  • The Valkyrie was developed by Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing, with significant input from legendary F1 designer Adrian Newey, aiming to bring F1 technology to the road.
  • It previously set a Silverstone production car lap record with a time of 1m56.42s.
  • Performance: It boasts 1100kg of downforce and 1140 horsepower, powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine combined with a Cosworth-developed KERS hybrid system.
  • Only 150 units of the Valkyrie were ever built.
  • Ricciardo's car, chassis number 089, includes nearly £150,000 in factory options, such as:
    • A £30,000 "Badger Blue" paint job, a nod to his F1 nickname.
    • Exposed 2x2 twill satin carbon fibre clam vanes and upper suspension shrouds.
    • £40,000 ultra-lightweight matt black magnesium wheels.
    • Interior features Pure Black Alcantara racing bucket seats with silver stitching and silver-anodised toggle switches on a removable racing wheel.
  • The car has been minimally used, with only 160 kilometers on the odometer.

What Ricciardo says:

Daniel Ricciardo described the Valkyrie as a "pretty straight-up race car," adding, "It feels like a race car and it looks like a race car. Will we ever see another car like this again? I can't predict the future. But when you ask if it is the pinnacle of road-legal technology then yes, I think it is."

Joe Twyman, Vice President of Sales for Broad Arrow’s EMEA region, emphasized the car's uniqueness: "The Valkyrie is the ultimate example of converting race car technology into a road car and the fact that this one was personally specified and owned by Formula One driver, Daniel Ricciardo, makes it truly unique and extremely desirable."
