Claire Williams returns to F1 paddock with British Grand Prix announcement

Summary
Former Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams is returning to the F1 paddock to join Channel 4's British Grand Prix coverage. She reflects on the difficulty of leaving F1 but finds joy in her current life.

Claire Williams, the former deputy team principal of the Williams team, will join Channel 4's coverage of the British Grand Prix this weekend.

Ms. Williams, daughter of team founder Sir Frank Williams, led the team for over seven years between 2013 and 2020 before parting ways when the team was sold to Dorilton Capital. Since leaving, she has made appearances on Netflix's "Drive to Survive" and became an F1 ambassador for Santander in March.

She also co-created a high-performance leadership course with Jenson Button as part of a Formula 1 and Santander initiative.

Whisper Films, which produces Channel 4's F1 coverage, announced Ms. Williams's return to Silverstone.

"Claire led the Williams F1 racing team for over eight years, delivering success and becoming the most prominent and successful woman in Formula 1 in recent years," Whisper Films stated. "Claire will be joining Lee McKenzie, Alice Powell, Steve Jones, David Coulthard and Billy Monger, with Alex Jaques leading commentary, for our Channel 4 coverage."

Last year, Ms. Williams spoke about the difficulty of adjusting to life without F1 after selling the team. "Williams has been my life and one minute it’s there, and one minute it’s not. Those race cars felt like a part of me," she said. "It gets into your soul. It’s not easy to say goodbye to F1."
