2026 Italian Grand Prix - Technical Delegate's Report (Document 49)

1. Third Free Practice (FP3) Checks

The following items were checked on all cars during FP3:

  • Tyre starting pressures
  • Fuel pressure and cooling system pressure
  • Engine high rev limit bands and fuel flow meter calibration checksum
  • Instantaneous and partial load fuel energy flow
  • Fuel and plenum temperatures
  • Engine intake air pressure and maximum turbocharger speed
  • DC sensor codes and temperatures
  • On-track ES state of charge limits, ERS recharge limits, MGU-K power limits and speed
  • SECU custom software versions

2. Pre-Qualifying Checks

  • Gear Ratios: Confirmed to belong to those declared to the FIA technical delegate.
  • Brake Discs: Thickness checked on all cars participating in qualifying.

3. Qualifying Checks

  • Weighing & Weight Distribution: Car numbers 81, 01, 63, 12, 03, 30, 16, 23, 41, and 31 (plus 44, 10, and 43 post-qualifying).
  • Aerodynamic Components: Checked on specific cars (e.g., Car #23, #63, #41, #43) covering floor body, foot, sidewall, nose, chassis, wings, etc.
  • PU & Electrical Checks: Fuel pressure, engine cooling, rev limits, fuel flow, turbo speed, torque sensor calibration/software, rear brakes pressure control, and steering wheels.
