Fact

The following Power Unit elements have been used:

• 4th Energy Store (ES)
• 4th Control Electronics Unit (PU-CE)

Note: All Power Unit elements were replaced without the approval of the FIA Technical Delegate during Parc Fermé.

Infringement

Breaches of Articles B8.2.2 (read with B8.2.3) and B3.5.3 of the FIA F1 Regulations.

Decision

Required to start the Race from the pit lane.

Reason

The use of the 4th Energy Store and Control Electronics Unit would have resulted in a grid drop penalty. However, as the Technical Delegate's approval was not obtained, this means, in accordance with Article B3.5.3 of the FIA F1 Regulations, a start from the pit lane is required.
