2026 Canadian Grand Prix - Post-Race Procedure

Note to Teams: Post-Race Interviews & Podium Ceremony Procedure

In addition to the provisions in Article B10.2 of the FIA F1 Regulations, the following detailed procedures must be followed:

1. Post-Race Interviews and Podium Ceremony

  • Master of Ceremonies: Appointed by the FIA to conduct and take responsibility for the entire ceremony.
  • Top Three Drivers:
    • After taking the chequered flag, they must return to the Pit Lane and park in front of the 1, 2, 3 boards near the Pit Lane Exit.
    • Drivers will be weighed by the FIA. They must remain fully attired (helmet, gloves, etc.) during weighing. Water will be available in the Parc Fermé area after weighing.
  • Access Restrictions: Only team mechanics (with cooling fans if necessary), officials, pre-approved TV crews, and photographers are allowed in the designated area. No team PR personnel or driver physios are permitted; physios must wait outside the cool down room until the ceremony concludes.
  • Dress Code (Article B10.2.2):

    "For the duration of the Podium Ceremony and post-Race interview procedure, the drivers finishing the Race in 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions must remain attired only in their Driving Suits, 'done up' to the neck, not opened to the waist."

  • Interviews: Will take place in Parc Fermé. The interviewer will be selected by the Commercial Rights Holder.
  • Cool Down Room: Once interviews are completed, drivers will be escorted to the cool down room and given their Pirelli caps.
  • Podium Ceremony Order:
    1. 3rd and 2nd placed drivers introduced to their respective steps.
    2. Winning driver introduced.
    3. National Anthems played and flags displayed.
    4. Trophies presented by dignitaries in the following order:
      • Winning Driver
      • FIA Medal for the Winning Driver
      • Representative of the Winning Constructor
      • 2nd Place Driver
      • 3rd Place Driver

2. Post-Podium & Media Obligations

  • Top Three Drivers: Escorted by the FIA Media Delegate to the TV pen, and then to the FIA Press Conference.
  • Drivers 4th and Beyond:
    • Must proceed directly to the TV pen after being weighed in Parc Fermé (must remain fully attired until weighed).
    • If they do not have a written media session organized, they must be available at the written media zone adjacent to the TV pen after TV interviews.
  • Retired Drivers: Must go to the TV pen (and written media pen if applicable) as soon as they return to the paddock.
